Atonement, by Ian McEwan:
While at times wordy and convoluted, this book, nevertheless, chronicles the coming of age story of a thirteen year old girl living in England during WWII. Her naiveté and rash actions put an innocent man behind bars, but she tries to atone for her mistake by telling the truth via the story. There are elements of class struggle, the tug of war between innocence and experience, love and lust, as well as the story of real war being fought throughout Europe. It will definitely make for a good, made for TV, movie someday and is an enjoyable read. I give it a three out of four stars. - Miss Pink
